On Friday, August 28, 2026, at 6:15 p.m., a mindful hike will begin from Schalkenbach to the “Auf dem Weiselstein” observation tower. There, we’ll watch the sunset and the rise of the full moon together from the tower—a special natural spectacle with sweeping views across the volcanic region. Enjoy the tranquility of the evening and let the unique atmosphere wash over you.

The loop hike (approx. 5.5 km, 180 m elevation gain) starts in Schalkenbach and takes us along the Alter Schalkenbach stream. With the sound of the water, we immerse ourselves in the evening forest. We follow trails up to the Schirmhoch estate and on to the “Auf dem Weiselstein” observation tower. Once we arrive in an enchanting landscape of blooming heather and juniper bushes, we can enjoy the fantastic panoramic view. Experiencing the sunset and the moonrise from the Weiselstein observation tower is a special nature experience.
The return trip offers sweeping views of the Siebengebirge and the Westerwald.
The hike is accompanied by inspiring mindfulness prompts and gentle yoga exercises that deepen the connection with nature and soothe both body and mind.
To refresh ourselves, we’ll take a tea break with fruit and crackers. You’re welcome to bring your own drinks.
Everyone—regardless of age—is warmly welcome. We recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.

Meeting point: 6:15 p.m. in Schalkenbach (the exact meeting point will be sent with the confirmation).

The hike lasts approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.

The participation fee is 20 euros for adults, payable in cash on site or via bank transfer in advance.
