Eifelleiter Premium Hiking Trail

"Step-by-step" hiking fun—from the Rhine to the High Eifel

Seemingly endless meadows, fields, and forest edges, punctuated by unique natural gems such as the Rodder Maar or the Hohe Acht. Across the Rhine, the Eifelleiter adventure begins and culminates in a dance on the volcano. Stretching 53 kilometers, the Eifelleiter takes hikers on an extraordinary journey through a diverse array of landscapes. From a touch of Rhine romance, through secluded maar idylls, extinct volcanic cones, and Mediterranean-style heathlands, all the way to the Hohe Acht—at 747 meters, the highest mountain in the Eifel—it truly offers everything the Rhine and Eifel have to offer —the Eifel Ladder promises an unforgettable journey to the origins of our Earth, a dance with the elements of fire and water, an experience between silence and primal nature.
