More than 10,000 years ago, fire-breathing volcanoes in the Laacher See region spewed ash into the sky, and streams of glowing lava slowly cooled into solid basalt. The goal of the organizers of “Night of the Volcanoes” is to commemorate these forces of nature that shaped our magnificent landscape. The highlight of the event week is now traditionally a volcanic fire spectacle. In 2027, the 20th “Night of the Volcanoes” will mark a special anniversary. The culture and event week will take place from July 24 to August 1, 2027, around Lake Laach. The organizers have planned a wide variety of events surrounding this highlight. There’s something for everyone: concerts, festivals, comedy, hikes, lectures, and much more. This year, the “Volcano Party”in Nickenich, in the municipality of Pellenz, featuring the RPR1 stage, will bring the cultural and event week to a close.
