Status of Compliance with Requirements

This website is not fully compliant with the accessibility regulations applicable to us. Specifically:

Non-compliance with accessibility regulations

The content listed below is not compliant with the relevant legal regulations on accessibility:

Images and graphical controls do not consistently have unambiguous alternative text.

The programmatically detectable heading hierarchy sometimes differs from the page’s content structure.

The focus order is not consistently traceable.

Not all PDF documents are accessible.

The HTML syntax is not consistently valid.

The name, role, or state of not all controls can be determined by assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers).

When navigating with a keyboard, not all areas can be accessed, or they do not consistently have focus.

The graphical controls for navigating the carousels and lists are only partially keyboard-accessible.

Disproportionate burden

The following content is not made accessible because doing so would impose a disproportionate burden on us:

We strive to make our website accessible to all users. However, our site does not yet fully comply with legal requirements for digital accessibility.

We would like to inform you that we will be replacing the current website with a completely new site in the coming months. As part of this redesign, accessibility will be a priority from the very beginning to ensure optimal and unrestricted use for everyone. We thank you for your understanding.

Accessibility Statement for the Integrated TOSC5 Website Widget

We (the Laacher See Holiday Region Association) have integrated the TOSC5 website widget from feratel media technologies AG for booking accommodations.

Accessibility Statement

feratel media technologies AG strives to make the TOSC5 website widget accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act (BaFG), as amended, for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of June 28, 2025, on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications.

This accessibility statement applies exclusively to the TOSC5 website widget (booking and information widget) integrated on this website.

Status of Compliance with Requirements

Due to the following non-conformities and exceptions, the TOSC5 website widget is partially compliant with Conformity Level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1" and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V 3.2.1 (2021-03).

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

a) Non-compliance with the BaFG

C.9.1.1.1 - For some non-textual content presented to you, there is no equivalent textual alternative that serves the same purpose;
C.9.1.3.1 - In some cases, information, structures, or relationships conveyed through the presentation of pages cannot be programmatically determined (or are not available via text);
C.9.1.3.2 - In some cases where the order in which content is presented affects its meaning, this is conveyed only visually and not structurally;
C.9.1.4.3 - The visual presentation of text and images containing text does not always meet the required minimum contrast ratio, apart from the exceptions provided for in the guidelines (e.g., for logos);
C.9.1.4.10 - Content that does not require a two-dimensional representation (e.g., data tables or maps) is not rearranged when resized;
C.9.2.1.1 - Some features cannot be activated via the keyboard (or a similar input interface);
C.9.2.2.2 - Some animations, flashing, sliding, or self-updating information start automatically, last longer than five seconds, or are presented alongside other content; there are no mechanisms to stop or hide them;
C.9.2.4.3 - On some web pages that can be navigated sequentially and where the navigation order affects meaning and functionality, some objects that can receive focus do not receive it in an order that preserves their meaning and functionality;
C.9.2.4.6 - Headers and/or labels do not sufficiently clarify the content or functionality;
C.9.3.3.2 - In some cases, no labels or instructions are provided when the content requires user input;
C.9.4.1.2 - In some cases, the components of the user interface (including: form elements, links, and script-generated components...) are not correctly named, assigned a role, set to a status, or have their properties and values set, or the user and their assistive technologies are not notified when these change;
C.9.4.1.3 - In some cases, status messages are not presented to the user in a way that allows assistive technologies to interpret them without shifting focus;

b) Undue Burden

Making the PDFs contained in the TOSC5 website widget accessible and creating the accessibility statement in plain language currently constitutes a disproportionate burden. They therefore constitute an exception.

c) The content does not fall within the scope of applicable legal provisions

A version in sign language is not mandatory.

This statement was updated on June 3, 2025.
