Until 1861, the Plaidter parish church stood on the "Old Church Square". Today's three-aisled, neo-Gothic church was consecrated on September 9, 1861 by Bishop Wilhelm Arnoldi.

The mascot of the volcanic region "Laachus", the floating pumice stone, accompanies the children on the 300m long stone adventure trail on the monastery wall of Maria Laach and brings them closer to volcanism with riddles and child-friendly boards.

The museum provides information about the historical stonemasonry in Weibern and shows a stone collection of local materials.

After the renovation of the former synagogue and its opening in March 2012, the building, which was desecrated and desecrated by the Nazis in 1938 and then used as a forge for over 70 years, is open to the public again.

The Saffig synagogue was built in 1858. It is the only rebuilt synagogue in Rhineland-Palatinate that is once again actively hosting Jewish services.

The sky in the Brohl valley darkened when the Laacher See volcano erupted just five kilometers away. The once loose materials from the glowing avalanche have caked over time to form a rock that is called “trass” in our region.

At the sports field we are standing in front of a mighty wall made of layered, alternately coarse and fine tuff banks.

The path up to the right also takes you in just a few minutes to the open-air exhibition at the stone saw house, where, among other things, a stone saw and a crane clearly illustrate the work processes involved in the tuff stone. The tourist information offers regular guided tours to the impressive Weiberner tuff quarries and - like the local stone cutters' association - organizes hands-on stone hammering courses, in which individual works of art are created from volcanic rock.

As the central point of contact in the Volcano Park, the information centre offers an overview of the wide range of geological and archaeological themes covered in the park. 

The "Sauren Buhr" near Volkesfeld is a state-approved mineral spring opened in 1967. Enjoy the healing effect of the tingly-cool "treasure" from the volcanic depths of the Eastern Eifel to the full!
