Experience sports, nature, and volcanic landscapes in a unique way: The trail running series around Lake Laach combines varied running routes with fascinating geological features. The focus is on shared experiences in nature and the joy of movement – completely free of competitive thoughts.

Starting in September of this year, the trail running series in the volcanic region will commence. The five annual dates do not represent a competition. It is not about being the first to complete the approximately 11 km long route around the Krufter Ofen. Rather, we want to combine the sporting incentive with the geological attractions. Starting from the tourist information center in Maria Laach, the route with a total ascent of approximately 420 meters leads past the Hochkreuz, to the Teufelskanzel, the summit of the Krufter Ofen, along narrow paths to the best viewpoints and the mofettes in Lake Laach, returning to the starting point. Although the running route includes drinking and sightseeing breaks, the (max. 10) participants should possess sufficient physical fitness and be at least 14 years old. Runners can expect a route that consists of approximately 2/3 single-trail paths through wooded areas. In addition to the mandatory running attire, sufficient drinks, sunscreen, tick and insect repellent are recommended. No running pace is specified, and consideration is given to individual abilities. Free according to the motto: "We. Run. Naturally."
