In Germany, there are 60,000 amateur choirs, and the number continues to grow. Singing in a choir is much more than just a musical performance – it is a community experience that evokes feelings of happiness, reduces stress, and can even extend life. In his knowledgeable and entertaining book, Stefan Moster embarks on a journey of discovery through the world of choirs. From professional ensembles to small amateur choirs, from men's singing clubs to queer vocal ensembles – he shines a light on the diversity and the special magic of choir singing.

With humorous and profound stories from the past and present of choral singing, Moster demonstrates how singing connects people and evokes emotions. He provides exciting insights into various facets, from historical anecdotes about the role of choirs in politics to surprising moments like the choral singing of the Red Army in the Rudi Carell Show.
Stefan Moster showcases the fascinating world of the choir and describes what makes singing in community so special. A must for all who love singing, whether as active singers or enthusiastic listeners.
