Poetry Inspiration: Eberhard Thomas Müller
Over the course of nearly a year, Violetta Richard visited older adults in their homes and in long-term care facilities. They shared stories, drew pictures, and exchanged letters and small notebooks containing poetic questions. A favorite word, a formative experience, something beautiful from a long life: these inspired small abstract works that will remain in the participants’ rooms as gifts. Violetta Richard: “It was a project built on trust that took time. Gaining insight into private spaces and stories isn’t something to be taken for granted. Thank you to everyone who welcomed me in so openly.” Now all the works are coming together. Individual rooms are becoming a single collaborative work, and people who might otherwise never have met are becoming part of a whole.
Violetta Richard, born in 1972, lives and works in Neuwied and Koblenz. Glass artist and designer. Studied painting at the Freie Akademie Rhein/Ruhr. Has been working as a freelance artist since 2007 and has participated in numerous exhibitions and projects. Recipient of awards including the AKM Sponsorship Prize and the Art Prize of the Johann-Isaak-von-Gerning Foundation.
We look forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time.
