Kirchenscheune Kempenich
It’s that time of year again: Advent reading with Luzia Kaul at the Kirchenscheune in Kempenich! On Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., Luzia Kaul will once again read her latest Advent story by atmospheric candlelight at the Kirchenscheune in Kempenich, located at Breunstraße 4. The short breaks between readings will be accompanied by live performances of appropriate musical pieces.
From childhood onward, Luzia Kaul enjoyed the cozy “Advent gatherings” that her mother hosted every year for the whole family, complete with candlelight and cookies. Ever since then, she has loved this cozy time of year, and she enjoys bringing its special charm to life in her Lea stories, which are always set in our unique Eifel landscape.
“A Hidden Christmas Love” is Kaul’s eighteenth Advent and Christmas story. In it, she continues her popular “Lea series,” which now comprises sixteen episodes. In this series, the entire extended family—centered around Lea, Grandma Anna, and Uncle Hermann, as well as numerous family friends—eagerly looks forward to their very special Christmas celebrations. These are consistently exciting, heartwarming, and at the same time unusual Advent stories.
What is this year’s episode about? Well, while visiting a Christmas market, Lea is wildly excited about the upcoming Christmas celebration at the “Silberburg.” But then the housekeeper, Lyra, breaks her leg, and all plans are thrown into disarray. From then on, Lea secretly works feverishly to save the celebration after all. And so, on Christmas Eve, the whole family experiences a very special surprise that’s quite something.
Let yourself be surprised, too!
Luzia Kaul’s wonderful Advent stories are a very special Christmas greeting for all those people who are especially close to our hearts. If we’d like to give our loved ones a little break from everyday life, we can write them a heartfelt message in the little book and simply mail it using the enclosed envelope. With this extraordinary Advent story, you’re giving the perfect “ingredient” for a cozy evening by the fireplace. It’s a story that also offers some inspiration.
The reading will be accompanied by music from singer and guitarist Annabelle Thiesen, with a program tailored to the book.
Admission is free, though the team at the Kirchenscheune Kempenich would appreciate a donation and, as always, will lovingly take care of their guests.
