A unique combination of image and music transforms the Bungerrwiese into a special kind of open-air cinema. Presented from a nostalgic vintage fire engine (Magirus Deutz, built in 1969), which combines cinema, sound, and lighting technology, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the pioneering days of film, live instrumental accompaniment, and projected on historic 16mm film, this experience brings to life the spirit of early cinema.
Since 1999, the WANDERKINO has been traveling through Germany and Europe and was awarded the German Silent Film Prize in 2023 – a visual and auditory experience that brings film history to life.
