Fahrt mit dem Vulkan-Express

Apr 8, 2026 - Sep 30, 2026

Brohl-Lützing

On the nearly 18 km long narrow-gauge railway from Brohl am Rhein to Engeln in the Eifel, our train crosses several high viaducts and passes through a nearly 100-meter-long tunnel. Almost 400 meters of elevation are overcome! On most days, our trains are pulled by green/beige painted diesel locomotives. Experience how our locomotives must unleash their full power on the steep stretch between Oberzissen and Engeln to bring the train to its destination on time! On selected days, we regularly deploy our historic steam locomotive "11sm".

Timetable:

from Brohl/Rhein
10:15 AM
11:40 AM arrival in Engeln

from Engeln
2:20 PM
3:40 PM arrival in Brohl/Rhein

At each stop, boarding and alighting is possible.

Fahrt mit dem Vulkan-Expreß
May 5, 2026 - Nov 1, 2026

A trip with the Brohltalbahn is more than just a train ride. It is pure everyday deceleration, a true experience of technology and nature. It brings the volcanic region of Laacher See with its unique volcanic landscape to life and gives a sense of the "effort" it takes the locomotives to overcome around 400 meters in altitude between the Rhine and Eifel. Step on board and experience a unique narrow-gauge railway in the attractive landscape of the Eastern Eifel!
