Vulkanpark Infozentrum Plaidt - Tagesticket

The Volcano Park Information Center between Plaidt and Saffig is the central point of contact for the Volcano Park. The volcano park in the district of Mayen-Koblenz consists of a total of seven adventure centers and 16 landscape monuments, which are mainly located between the towns of Andernach and Mayen. In addition to information and advice on all 23 volcano park stations, the information center offers visitors comprehensive insights into the explosive history of the volcanic East Eifel and the region's thousands of years of rock quarrying history in two exhibition areas.

In the "Volcanology/Geology" exhibition on the first floor, visitors are immersed in the explosive history of the formation of the Eastern Eifel. Large illuminated volcano pictures, real lava bombs and other exhibits provide an initial introduction to volcanism, while a 25-minute film provides information on the history of the volcanic region between Andernach and Mayen.

The "Archaeology/History of Technology" exhibition on the upper floor focuses on the thousands of years of mining history and use of basalt and tuff resulting from volcanism - from Roman times through the Middle Ages to modern times. This is vividly and tangibly presented in the exhibition using the volcano park's landscape monuments.

Volcanic stones can be experienced from new perspectives in the stone adventure garden.

The adjoining Rauscherpark, one of the 16 volcano park landscape monuments, invites visitors to take a relaxing stroll along the Nette.

The upper floor is accessible by elevator.
Visitors have the option of using a free audio guide for the two exhibition areas.
The exhibitions are recommended for children aged 6 and over.
At weekends, on public holidays and bridge days, the information center can only be reached by car via Saffiger Straße (Rauschermühlenstraße is closed).
