The start and finish of the high-quality 15.8 km long picturesque circular hiking trail is the "Rodder Maar" hiking parking lot between Roder and Niederzissen. Other good starting points are the historic village of Königsfeld and the Schalkenbach and Oberdürenbach staging posts.

The trail leads along the graceful Rodder Maar across fields and meadows, along the edge of the forest past the Königssee lake and the village of Oberdürenbach. The idyllic Schirmau forest estate suddenly emerges, nestled in a dreamlike heath landscape, the highlight of which is definitely the Weiselstein viewing tower. Forests, meadows and fields alternate along the rest of the route. The magnificent nature of the Vinxtbach valley towards Schalkenbach and Königsfeld invites you to gaze into the distance. It is worth making a detour to historic Königsfeld, which was even granted town rights in 1336. The town model from around 1700 can be viewed in the Nikolauskirche church in the "old town center". The route continues to the neighboring village of Dedenbach. The reward here is an Eifel ladder swing - a great place to rest! Soon after, you will reach the Rodder Maar and thus the starting point of the route.
