Geopfad Kreuz - und Keramikroute

Königsfeld

The cross and ceramic route starts at the community center in Königsfeld. The path leads left up Sinziger Straße to the Maternus Chapel and back to the L86. Shortly after the bus stop, follow a path over the Vinxtbach stream and you will reach a cattle trough. The path now leads off to the left to the so-called "Russenkreuz". From here, the path goes uphill to the right until it reaches a crossroads. To the right, the path leads over the farm track, where there is a wayside shrine with a ceramic bench. From here you have to walk back about 10 meters, then a path on the right leads to the entrance of the basalt quarry after a short distance. Hidden away and only accessible via a narrow flight of steps, you reach the Tafelrunde, a place to linger. If you leave the quarry and follow the path to the right, past the community column, you will reach the Dedenbacher hut "Schau ins Land". Above the hut, turn right and then take the second path to the right downhill to the Drei Wachen. Further downhill you reach the seating circle under the oak trees. Pass the Eifel gold bushes and continue past the watering hole back to the L 83. Following the sign of the Georoute, you walk into the new development area, via the cemetery back to the starting point.

All the ceramics along the route were made in the Königsfeld potter's house produced in the Königsfeld pottery house.
