Hohenleimbach
The EifelNetteSteig leads from the source of the Nette near Hohenleimbach to where it flows into the Rhine near Weißenthurm. Five stages between 16 and 22 kilometers lead from the source hidden in the forest near Spessart along secluded riverside paths and over the adjacent heights with their juniper passages and magnificent views of the Rhine plain:
Stage 1: From Spessart to Langscheid
Stage 2: From Langscheid to Sulzbusch
Stage 3: From Sulzbusch to Mayen
Stage 4: From Mayen to Ochtendung
Stage 5: From Ochtendung to the estuary
The 90 km long route runs through a variety of landscapes and touches such charming places as the confluence of a "second spring" near Hohenleimbach, the magnificent juniper groves before Langscheid and on the estuary.The route passes through a variety of landscapes and touches such charming places as the mouth of a "second spring" near Hohenleimbach, the magnificent juniper groves in front of Langscheid and on the Hohe Rain, the Riedener Waldsee, the tower on the Hochsimmer, Bürresheim Castle, Trimbser Schweiz, Wernerseck Castle and the rapids of Rauscherpark.
On the Natur Aktiv Erleben homepage, all stages are described and exact details of the route characteristics, length, altitude and individual sections are provided. There is also information on points of interest along the way, restaurants, accommodation and bus connections as well as the corresponding GPX files with the route and all important waypoints.
In addition, one or even two circular tours are offered for each stage, on which you can get to know the most beautiful sections of the long-distance hiking trail.
